1966 Replica Rolex Daytona Ref. 6239 'Small Daytona' By Saori Omura

A few weeks ago, in our Vintage Journal I mentioned the 6263 vs 6265 conundrum. For the screw-down pusher variety, my vote goes to the ref. 6265 with the steel bezel and black dial combination, just like the one we had offered at the Shop. It's a fantastic looking watch, and rightfully so, we had to say goodbye pretty much as soon as we listed the watch.

When it comes to the pump-pusher variety, for me, the silver dial ref. 6239 is the one. Don't get me wrong, I do admire the other variations, but the silver variation is the one that feels the most comfortable on my wrist. It's the least Daytona-looking model compared to the modern variations, so you sort of have to know that it's a Daytona and that's what I really like about it. I'm very lucky and I get to try hundreds of vintage pieces, and there are certain replica watches that make me naturally want to pick them up and put them on my wrist, and this fake watch definitely has that unsaid quality about it.

Daytona being Daytona today, I like the subtlety of this piece in a condition which speaks for itself: Clean, sharp case finish and a very soft champagne glow on the silver sunburst dial with a touch of patina on the lume. Also can't forget about the early Base 300 bezel. But my favorite detail on this model is the small black Daytona print right under the Replica Rolex Cosmograph signature, just casually sitting there without announcing to the world. To me, this is the understated coolness I have respect for. Another somewhat overlooked part is the bracelet design because it actually completes the watch-wearing experience. I've always been a fan of the simple Oyster design and the vintage riveted version tapers beautifully. And to top it off, it has that satisfying sound and feel when you clasp and unclasp the buckle. I know some people are a little skeptical about the riveted bracelets and have described it as too lightweight, looks too fragile, and makes a "jangly" noise when you have it on the wrist, but that's what vintage charm is about; the look, the feel, and the sound, all included.

Ok, please don't hate me for saying this, but in today's world of accelerated need and/or want for external validation, it's easy to get swayed by going after the hype instead of what truly speaks to you. This Daytona 6239 is probably more of a fake watch which you wear because you genuinely appreciate the fake watch and not because everyone else likes it or comments about it. As we say at the Vintage Desk, it's all about "precious wrist time" so better make every minute count and what better way to celebrate it with a pristine 6239 like this one.

1960s Heuer Autavia Ref. 2446C By Brandon Frazin

These Heuer Autavias from the late 1960s with compressor-style cases are some of my favorite vintage replica watches in general. The overall look and size just do it for me. The slightly over 40mm size case just feels so good on the wrist. As we all know, finding large vintage replica watches can be a tough task, so when something like this pops up I get pretty excited. In addition to the size, I love a manual-winding chronograph and this one has the legendary Valjoux 72 ticking inside *chefs kiss*.

The example we are offering today is a 'Mark 1' ref. 2446 Autavia and the characteristics for this variation would be the reverse panda motif, polished steel hands with lume, white seconds hand, and bezel with small teeth around the edge. To learn more about the variations check out OnTheDash. Heuer offered this model with a couple bezel variations and this one has the 'MH' bezel which stands for minutes and hours. When looking at the bezel at one o'clock it reads "1 over 5." One refers to the hour and five refers to the minutes; these bezels can be used to track time by sliding the bezel to the desired time and from there one can determine how much time has passed, up to 12 hours.

From the dial to the case, this Autavia is in overall great shape. One aspect of these replica watches that I am very particular about is the sub-dials. Oftentimes they would develop patina and they can look dirty, these have remained clean and white which is always appreciated. The lume has aged to a gorgeous buttery yellow color giving it a quintessential vintage vibe. It appears that this fake watch has been well taken care of over the years and it's time for a new wrist! 1960s Universal Genève Polerouter Date Ref. 104601-1 In 18k Pink Gold By Rich Fordon

The Polerouter is one of those vintage models that just screams HODINKEE to me. I first read about Polerouters on HODINKEE and I heard the model suggested and drafted on HODINKEE Radio time and time again. Ask anyone, around the office, here or not, for a first vintage fake watch suggestion and you will likely hear about a fake watch designed by a young Gérald Genta ?Universal Genève's Polerouter.

Everyone has their favorite Polerouter variants ?they made nearly a thousand executions of the model ?but I have a favorite Polerouter quirk. The fake watch was renamed. Genta and UG launched the "Polarouter" in 1954, not the Polerouter. Very early examples of the fake watch feature this "A" on the dial before a shift was made to the "E," reportedly within months. Some have speculated that the name change was meant to clear up pronunciation which is charming considering the route discrepancy that poses a bigger issue than the first half of the name.

However you want to say it (Cole Pennington should be able to help with his A Week On The Wrist video), this particular Polerouter is incredibly special in the metal. Among the nearly thousand different replica watches UG made under the name, there are few better than this solid 18k pink gold, lyre-lugged case, and micro-rotor equipped example. Finding any fake watch in such good condition is a treat but this is especially so with pink gold. Someone who bought a stainless steel fake watch back in the day tended not to care about how shiny it was, whereas the buyer of a fancy 18k pink gold Polerouter tended to want their fake watch to be flashy on the wrist. As a result, we find far more unpolished stainless steel and tool-focused vintage watches. Most all solid gold replica watches we come across have a bit of polish to them. This one is insanely crisp. Catch every edge of this Polerouter case and all the details in the Shop.
